I’m a student SJI International (Singapore), currently taking my IB Diploma. All the materials here on this site are either my notes and videos (using various school textbooks), or other resources that I found useful for my revision. I will try to reference everything I’ve used; if I’ve violated any copyright issues please do let me know and I will take it down immediately!

My subjects:

  • HL Mathematics (Option: Statistics and Probability) – no notes… Sorry! My IA is available though.
  • HL Chemistry (Option A: Modern Analytical Chemistry; Option D: Medicines and Drugs)
  • HL English Literature A1
  • HL Economics
  • SL Biology (Option A: Human Nutrition and Health; Option C: Cells and Energy, and Option G: Ecology)
  • SL Chinese B

If you take any of these subjects, please feel free to use my revision notes!

Also some kind friends have sent in notes on these subjects:

(If you’re still a freshman/ Grade 9 and take the IGCSEs, please refer to my IGCSE Revision blog.)

Have fun studying!

Plus special thanks to: Claire, Matthew, Canh, John, Stephanie, Pao, Laura, Thu, and Josh for sending in notes/ allowing me to post your work online. Thanks guys!

  1. Hey, thank you so much for these revision notes. I was wondering whether you could re-upload the Geography Option A Freshwater notes because the document isn’t opening. it comes up with an error on Microsoft Word saying ‘Word experienced an error trying to open the file’.

  6. Hey these are the best notes ever!!!!! I was just wondering how well did you go in your IB? Anyway loved your notes, helped me so much in Geography!

    1. Thanks! I got 45 🙂

      1. great to hear! definitely looks like you deserved it. You worked very hard on these notes!

      2. Any tips to doing well?

      3. Study hard, study smart, and do lots of past papers as revision 🙂 Oh but maintain a balanced lifestyle! There’s no secret to it hahaha it’s just a load of hard work but it’s definitely worth it in the end. All the best!

  7. hi ruru!
was wondering if you have any tips for TOK because i literally still dont get how it works and i keep failing my essays.

  8. Hi, Ruhu! Your notes are spectacular! But I was wondering why you took IB instead of A-Levels when you did IGCSE during your high schooling year. (I’m currently taking IGCSE.) Is the syllabus for IB and IGCSE almost simliar? Was it a significant transition for you? I’m still contemplating to take IB or A-Levels after my IGCSE, but I heard IB is tough. Please reply ASAP! 🙂 Thank you.

    1. Hey Sabrina, I also went from IGCSE to IB.. and I’m not going to lie, I found it very different, the whole syllabus is very different. My school now does MYP (my class was the last IGCSE class) and I know that they are finding IB pretty much the same as MYP – just a little bit harder and more things to learn!
I think IB is great, it opens your mind up to so many other things (eg. TOK and CAS). But it is a lot of work – at least that’s what I think! 😛
A-levels and IB both have their good and bad side, but I’ve heard from a lot of my friends that are in their first or second year of uni that their first year is a breeze, because it was basically their IB2 life.
IB prepares you for uni and that is great, because at least you know what you might be expected in uni (eg. the EE plus the constant deadlines and time management skills you gain).
But talk to others that have done A-levels and IB and see what they think, everyone is different!
IB is tough and if you don’t work hard nearly everyday, you fall behind and catching up is always though.
Oh and don’t forget to choose subjects that you are interested in! There is no point in struggling through something that you hate! (trust me, I’m doing something I don’t like at all, but its too late to change! My final exams are May 2016!)

Ruru’s notes pretty much got me A’s in Bio, Chem and Phys! Such a great help!

      Hope that helps you a little… 🙂
      Study hard! 🙂

  9. thank you so much for your incredible notes, combined with my own they have really helped me with my studying. I was just wondering if you know of any more websites like these that have notes for business and design technology?
you are such an amazing person for putting so much effort into all these notes and then publishing them for everyone to use, not a lot of people would do that! xx

  10. Hi Ruhu, thanks for these great notes.

I hope you don’t mind me posting here but I found some great free resources for IB revision at https://osc-ib.com/. I hope it’s as helpful to you as it is for me!

  11. Congratulations on graduation!! Thanks for all your help!

  12. Hey there, I was wondering if you could post an amalgamation of HL Economics essay questions for practice like you have done for this https://ibrevision.wordpress.com/1-4-market-failure/

Thank you so much! Your notes are super helpful 🙂

  13. Hi Ruru, just wondering whether studying the ibdp syllabus before 11th & 12th is advisable.
    Any thoughts?
